Dr Suzan Thompson is the director and founder of Beach Counseling and Career Center, S-Corp and has been a career counselor since 1986. She holds a doctoral degree in Counseling from the University of Virginia and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia as well as a Distance Certified Counselor.

I take a holistic approach to career and personal counseling that includes viewing how work and home life might be related. I use a variety of resources as I work with individuals. Ultimately, it will be up to you to take the steps toward achieving any goals we set between sessions, but you can count on my support in this process!

I am licensed professional counselor in Virginia, a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois, and have Master of Professional Counseling. I joined Beach Counseling and Career Center in June of 2007, worked from 2000 to 2007 at the at the University of Chicago in the career services office, and have previous experience working with children and adolescents in the school setting.

In our work and personal life, we all struggle at times. I am prepared to help you in either area. We may work on you taking steps to finding a satisfying job, or we may work on helping you become more happy in your personal life. I am prepared to listen to your story and tailor our sessions to address your concerns and goals.
